Maxing the Maxus eDeliver 7: 260-Mile Real-World Range, Top Spec & Unbeatable Price

Ian Bourne EVC Sales Manager

We recently put the marvellous Maxus eDeliver 7 to the test to see how it performs and how the range and charging characteristics work in the real world.

The Maxus eDeliver 7 is a direct competitor to the Ford E-Transit Custom and the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, among a handful of others. Where our eDeliver 7 differentiates itself is on three fronts: unbeatable price, highest spec as standard, and great handling. Our stock of 88 kWh battery eDeliver 7s is priced at a point where we think you'll agree the value combined with the adaptability simply can't be beaten.

Real-world range: 260+ miles on ECO mode

The eDeliver 7 has superb load-carrying credentials with a payload of around 1,200 kg, a maximum load volume of 8.7 m³, and a towing capacity of 1,500 kg. The range officially offers 230 miles WLTP combined — but when I personally drove it for a week, I was getting over 260 miles sometimes on ECO drive mode. Outstanding returns at that value.

Plus with charging rates of up to 90 kW, the eDeliver 7 will top up from 20% to 80% in around 40 minutes — again, class-leading for a light commercial van in this segment.

Load capacity, payload and towing

At a glance, the eDeliver 7's commercial credentials stack up like this:

Payload

1,200 kg

Max Cargo Volume

8.7 m³

Towing

1,500 kg

Inside the cab: spec, safety and comfort

Where the Maxus eDeliver 7 really adds punch to its package is, of course, the high spec as standard. The vehicle comes with:

  • Adaptive cruise control with stop & go
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane keep assist and emergency lane keeping
  • Blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Driver monitoring and fatigue warning
  • Six airbags as standard
  • 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Digital instrumentation
  • Heated multifunction steering wheel
  • Automatic climate control
  • Highly adjustable driving position with extensive steering-wheel adjustment to reduce fatigue on long shifts
  • Heated seats

How the eDeliver 7 stacks up against the Ford E-Transit Custom and Vauxhall Vivaro Electric

Spec-for-spec and pound-for-pound, the Maxus eDeliver 7 is genuinely hard to beat in the mid-size electric panel-van segment. Where the Ford E-Transit Custom and Vauxhall Vivaro Electric tend to charge extra for safety packs, larger infotainment screens, heated seats and adaptive cruise, the eDeliver 7 includes the lot as standard. Combine that with the 88 kWh battery's real-world range and 90 kW charging speed, and the value proposition becomes very clear, very quickly.
